THRESHING COFFEE PROCESS

Compañia Cafetera La Meseta S.A. has an integrated production process of coffee, from cultivation to the commercialization of green coffee beans, marketed in two presentations: Excelso’s and Low Grades.

To obtain green coffee beans, it passes through the processes of harvest, wet and dry milling. Today, we’ll talk about the dry milling or threshing of coffee.

Consists of removing the husk of dried parchment coffee mechanically, and obtain the green coffee beans. Then, is selected by size, density or specific weight, removing all kinds of impurities and defective beans that later becomes in “Low Grades.” For last, each bean is selected with modern high-speed electronic sorting equipment by color, to ensure the best export coffee to the world.
